Miniature Kanaxai Price
Recently a poster made a thread selling a Miniature Kanaxai. Now there are only 28 in the game unless a couple got duped. I added the highest bidder's price all together and it came to 27,500,000 which is an insane amount of gold. This is possibly an estimate to begin with because here's what I used to determine the price.
Ectoplasm = 5K each
Armbrace = 100K+30e
(2)Miniature Panda = 2000e(This is how I got the 20 million part)
The bidder also offered two miniature pandas. The bid for a dedicated panda was at 2000e so you can imagine what a undedicated could be worth if that was the case.
On wiki it says
Quote:
Due to the armbrace incident in 2007, at least one Kanaxai was traded for 1750 Armbraces of truth.
|
437,500,000. Everything past the 1,000,000 mark and 100k per character is in the form of additional currency though, but still a whopping amount of gold. I just found that interesting because rare items like that can be so high in price. What would you do with 437,500,000 platinum? You could sell it which is against in game rules, but you would probably get caught quick trading gold like that.

Most of the bids on high end minis are fake. And you could sell that much platinum really fast and get f*ckin rich irl.

Except that duped armbraces aren't really worth that much, if there were still that many in the game they would all be worth a lot less.

hehe, it would be tempting to sell it, even if I did get banned - that's allot of RL $$$ there. Or I might just throw a HUGE bash and invite everyone on Guru for free cakes and booze (ingame of course).

They said a lot of the accounts with duped armbraces got banned, but there still some out there possibly. I didn't think about it but you could just sell all the gold at once for $RL dollars and get away with it.

Gold is currently worth 2,000,000 GW Gold = USD$ 229.99 so that would be $50,252.815 if you had 437,000,000 platinum. Put a down payment on a house or buy a corvette.

hell for that amount i wouldn't care if my account got banned, I've gotten a good run with my account and would happily see it go bye bye for 50grand IRL.

Yeah I'd sell it too, hell for $10,000 I'd give up my GW account. I could buy new better games.

From a super quick search of "gw gold" in the awesome Google, I never found 1000k = 40 US.
On another note, what is this thread about? Don't we have another thread about you being THAT rich?

There are still massive amounts of duped armbraces and ectos in the market. How do you think it's possible that stuff has gotten so expensive? Before the duping, stuff wasn't nearly as costly because things were at an "appropriate" value. Yes, anet did ban a lot of accounts that were proven to have actually done the duping, but that means very little. A lot of armbraces would've been traded off that account, and who the hell is aNet to decide if a trade is legitimate or not? If I was a duper and traded 1750 arms for a Panda, anet wouldn't ban the person who received the armbraces. Hell, if you traded it to another account you own, you probably wouldn't get banned. Just because you don't see people being cavalier with their stacks of armbraces does not mean they don't have them, innocent OR guilty. If I admitted that I had 10 stacks of armbraces, most people wouldn't waste more than a second to call me a cheater. But what if some person who has 100 stacks of armbraces was cavalier with their fortune and traded me them for something?
Everyone is so uick to point fingers at rich people calling them cheaters/ebayers, but consider this: "back in the day" even mini pandas were not expensive. You could pick up an un-ded one for 500-1000e, and that money is actually not that hard to make. People who used to farm the underworld a long time ago know that ectos used to drop in piles. Not to mention if you got a decent drop back in the day, it would be worth a hell of a lot of money. Hell, I didn't even play in the hay-day of ectos, I've never ebayed, and I'm still well off. Just because people don't believe you can honestly get rich doesn't mean that it doesn't happen =P.

I agree with Illfated. There was a time when I picked up a Kanaxai for 800ectos (which was the going rate then - even with the rarity) and I traded in Asian pets purchased on guru auctions before the update allowing them in town.
What I dont really understand is why anet have released more Vizus, nagas, Onis etc into the marketplace (several time through prizes/ giveaways), but yet they have restricted the number of other pets (Kanaxai, panda, Island Guardian to anme a few) severely.
I cant believe that anet are actually happy at the values the diminished pool (assuming attrition from ones lost from duping, dedication and people stopping playing that have them) of these pets considering they have brought the price down of every other item in the game...
Before the PM's start, no I dont still have the kanaxai....... :'(

Oh the ever-present ignorant s.o.b.'s (and I mean that in the nicest way possible) who believe Armbraces are still worth 100k+30 ecto. I personally wouldn't pay over 75k for one since they got duped out the wazoo. I just imagine all the people with 5 stacks in their storage just slowly selling them 1 at a time.
tl;dr: Armbraces could possibly be more common than ecto.

It makes me wonder how many are on active accounts and how many will never get to walk around in towns again. I like having something so rare because I did something to earn it and it wasnt from a lotto.

Wrong, 1million gold on ebay or any other online gold buying site ranges from 80-100$'s USD last time I checked, perhaps even more.

Remember, the page in question is talking about DUPED (read: free) armbraces. If the guy that sold the Kanaxai managed to keep the ersatz loot and not get permabanned, yes, that's like hitting a Vegas jackpot.
To my knowledge no one has made enough in-game cash to legitimately acquire 1750 armbraces (or sufficient items that could be sold off to raise 1750 armbraces). Stack of armbraces, sure. 7 stacks? Doubtful.
